Archives - Amoeba Animation
An animation created using Maya software. A web tutorial was used to create the animation in 2009--sadly, I no longer have the link to the tutorial. Credit goes to where credit is due.

ButterFreak: A Pokemon Animation Parody - Animation Archives
Переглядів 4027 років тому
Full disclosure: Venonat always kinda freaked me out. And after I read about the "conspiracy" surrounding its evolution sprite (see the link below) I thought it would be fun to make it the centerpiece of my first serious attempt at a hand-drawn animated short and Pokemon parody animation. Basically, I was going for an Animaniacs and/or Ren and Stimpy vibe and Butterfree and Venomoth were a fun ...
Learning Game Intro: Noobs vs. Leets - Animation Archives
Переглядів 2967 років тому
Here's a fun little animation I made for the intro sequence of a learning game on geometry, designed by CREATE Lab at NYU. It's your standard "villains steal sacred object from heroes" plot line, but a fun exercise, especially with the pencil sketch and old film effects. For the sake of clarity, the "noobs" are the teardrop shaped ones and the "leets" are the blobs. Here's some links for the pr...
The Making of Cataract Surgery: Phacoemulsification
Переглядів 2,1 тис.7 років тому
Ever wonder how medical animations are made? In this video, the steps of developing a 3-D animation on cataract surgery (aka. phacoemulsification) are described. Descriptions on how the lens removal procedure was conceived and realized are explained, and strategies for texturing the eye and other 3-D models are explored. A step-by-step on how the cataract procedure was animated is also describe...
The Making of Phage: An Animation
Переглядів 2,4 тис.7 років тому
This is a "The Making Of" video for my first student animation from back in 2010, called "Phage", which focused on the lifecycle of T4 bacteriophages. I wanted to share my animated storyboard and animatic from that project, so I figured this would be a fun way to do that. Here's a link to the original full animation: ua-cam.com/video/ehbZpo8oXSs/v-deo.html The following programs were used in ma...
Archives - Web Portfolio Designs (2008-2011)
Переглядів 317 років тому
Here's three different designs I used for various online portfolios over the years, all built in Adobe Flash. Nothing too spectacular, but the old Flash era was a great way to allow for some interactivity on sites without too much technical know-how on code and programming side. Of special note is the last one, called "Leaky Cecum Studios", which was more of a joke portfolio site than anything ...
Archives - Global Domestic Product Simulator Demo
Переглядів 127 років тому
One of our clients requested that we create a simulator or learning explorer to help teach global domestic product (GDP) to kids in macro and micro economics. The final product looks nothing like this, but it's fun to look back and what might have been. This was an early build of one of the features showing how money and services flow through the system and through various hands. There's one er...

Here's two different branding video bumpers I created in Flash and 3DS Max a while back for employers of mine. I should probably note that some of the text and logos have been altered to avoid any conflicts of interest :)
Archives - Medicine Box Redesign (2009)
Переглядів 317 років тому
This was a class project. The challenge was to redesign a popular medicine box, for practice in graphic design as related to pharmaceuticals. I thought it would be fun to redesign the Dimetapp box to look like a juice box, since it has that "great grape taste." Those grapes on the front sure look fresh, Mmmm.... Archives - Flash Interactive: Immunity (2009)
Переглядів 2427 років тому
This learning module was actually first conceived as a game. But when I realized I had no programming experience, I decided that a simple "meet the characters of your immune system" was good enough. Basically, It creates a narrative around the cells and villians of your immune system, with white blood cells as the "good guys" and pathogens, parasites, and viruses as the "bad guys". It was a lot...
Archives - Blood Vessel Demo, No Cells (2012)
Переглядів 797 років тому
This animation is incomplete, but its supposed to be a first-person perspective view of the inside of a blood vessel, sans the red blood cells...those I was going to add later. Overall, it was a fun project, and I used some underwater microphone sounds, focus blurring, particles, a low heartbeat, and a "chipped lens" effect to make if feel like you're there. It's a long video, but I wanted to a...
Glad I could make an appearance in this videp
Namaste Some facts about cataract 1. Cataract surgery can be performed in any season. The associated myth that rainy season should be avoided can be ignored as advance cataract removal technology and medication is available. 2. We should have cataract removed whenever it starts affecting our daily life and we need not wait for it to mature as that can cause complications. 3. Eye drops cannot dissolve cataract and surgery is the only effective method. 4. Cataract is a day care procedure with fast recovery 5. Cataract surgery can be safely performed even in hypertensive and diabetic patients. Thanks
So cool 😎
Woah everything is made of crap

13 years later, this is still one of my favorite videos to teach my students about the RAAS! I had a professor that tried to teach it and I didn't understand. Once I started working in a veterinary internal medicine practice it was something I needed to understand when working with my cardiology patients and patients under anesthesia. I still use it to teach my veterinary technology student today. And the song is catchy. Thanks guys!!!
Good afternoon, M. Suzanne Hollis I'm sorry to inform you but this is not a full accurate video of the renin- angiotensin- aldosterone system. I want your students including YOU to get a better understanding of this process. Basically our kidney sends out renin which takes Angiotensinogen produced by the liver and converts it into Angiotensin 1 (A1). Then the lungs produce Angiotensinogen enzymes which converts it to angiotensin 2 (A2) creating 3 different pathways to increase blood pressure. The first way is by vasoconstriction of blood vessels which increases blood pressure. The second way is by the release of ADH produced by the posterior pituitary which conserves water to increase blood volume then rising blood pressure. The third way is by the adrenal gland releasing aldosterone from the glomerulosa which then reabsorbed sodium to our blood then water follows that sodium increasing blood volume, increasing blood pressure. You see M. Suzanne Hollis its not that hard I'm a 8th grader learning this stuff just want to help your kiddos out ;). If you ever need a guest speaker I would be happy to join your class :) Have a good rest of your day.

Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery
Dear Matt thanks for the great video! I was wondering if you could grant me permission to use this video or another animation you may have showing the infection cycle.. We are a new startup company and we will attend an exhibition event in September so sth like that could be great to communicate what are phages actually able to do. Thanks in advance.

the soviets of the microscopal war
Microscopic chest busters.
This might sound bad but this is what will save our lives in the future.
Good job personifying things that aren't even alive.
Wut?
@@kape871 Viruses are part way alive and part way not alive... kinda like zombies. just programmed to do 1 job. To be alive it needs to reproduce and well you now know how they reproduce. kinda like a parasit.
They are stupid
30 seconds of intro on a 1:50 minute video...
